CAUTIONARY NOTE WHEN BOOKING TRAVEL SERVICES VIA ONLINE PLATFORMS

Public Bank Vietnam (PBVN) would like to advise you to exercise caution when booking travel services via online platforms, for the safeguard of your own personal and banking information. Recently, travel service provider impersonation for scamming purpose have been increasingly reported, especially during peak seasons when there is high demand for travel services. Common scam tactics include creating fake websites, fan pages that offer lucrative promotion as an exchange of initial deposit via personal bank accounts or impersonating customer service staff to deceive users to either install malicious software or click on suspicious links to steal personal information.

To ensure the safety of your personal and banking information, please take note of the following:

• Only make reservations or purchases of travel services via secure, verified websites, platforms with a registered address. Avoid websites with unfamiliar domains, vague address or no registered contact information.
• Conduct thorough research on the service provider before making any payment, consider asking family or acquaintances who previously used the services.
• Never transfer money based on instruction from unknown parties, especially if the instruction was referenced to transactional errors, refunds or other unusual explanations.
• Do not download applications from unverified sources as this may lead to data theft. Only use applications from official stores such as App Store, Google play.
