Fraud Awareness - Do Not Share OTP Code

Dear Valued Customers,

According to statistics and analysis of economic experts since Covid-19 pandemic, the number of banking transactions via Internet Banking and Mobile Banking have surged considerably as a preferred method of banking. While you process the transactions, you often encounter the term “OTP” code.

So, what is OTP code?

OTP (One Time Password) is a password that is valid for only one login session or transaction, on a computer system or other digital device.

When do we use OTP code?

OTP code is used for security purpose, such as confirming transactions, verifying account, device or reset password, modify user information, etc.

Warning of tricks to deceive and gain OTP code fraudulently:

Fraudsters might ask victim to share this OTP code by pretending to be someone you trust like your bank staff or the police. Scammers may call you, using clever techniques to disguise themselves, using phone numbers which may seem genuine. Once they have succeeded in obtaining this passcode, they will use your account credentials and try to steal money from your account by transferring to their account.

Please be noted that Public Bank Vietnam will never ask you to share OTP code to anyone.

When you detect signs of fraud, please immediately contact our Hotline number: Customer service 18001198, Card & E-banking Service 24/7 1800599930 or PBVN Branches/Transaction Bureaus for further assistance.
